Found mainly in meadows and pastures, The broadleaf plantain is a perennial plant in the form of a rosette. It is also known as the white man's foot or the greater plantain. It exhibits high competition against other species. It is seldom seen in fields, mainly in broad-row plantations and following the introduction of simplifications in farming. It feels at home in nitrogen-rich soils and in humid locations. It is included among weed of low harm levels for the crop. It blossoms between June and the beginning of October. Depending on the type of soil, on which it grows, it can grow to 5-30 cm.

The broadleaf plantain is difficult to control due to the high speed of development and dynamic spread even under unfavourable conditions. This means that spraying with a herbicide must be done generously and necessarily using concentrated-action products.
