As the name may suggest, the common dandelion is a weed that is seen quite frequently. It is included among perennial or biennial plants. It is most commonly seen in permanently cultivated green areas and lawns. If not controlled appropriately, it significantly reduces the growth possibilities of the plants it neighbours. It emerges fairly rarely in fields, seen much more frequently in ruderal and fallow areas. It likes soils with a high nutrient content, with a lot of nitrogen and potassium.
Noteworthy is the fact that the common dandelion is simply called the dandelion. It blossoms heavily between April and May. The plant's stem may be up to 30 cm in height, and characteristic are the yellow flowers. To get the best results, control should be started when the first leaves emerge. Spraying with herbicides yields good results, because the active agents damage the weed's root system.
