The small-flowered crane's-bill also belongs to a group of well-wintering weeds. This is an annual, summer plant. It is a common weed and is seen in many plantations – both in broad as well as narrow rows. Its level of burden is rather low due to the broad range of products that can control it easily. It emerges between autumn until late spring. Its development is facilitated by nitrogen-rich soils. It grows quite commonly in ruderal areas, on roadsides and in baulks. It is often a neighbour of such crops as flax, beet or maize. It blossoms between May and October.

The small-flowered crane's-bill is best controlled when it has not yet developed well in the managed area. Its subsequent emergence and growth effectively deprive plants of the necessary nutrients contained in the soil. Spraying should be adapted to the type of crop planted.
